7 Benefits of using CBD

Many people are using CBD to relieve chronic pain, anxiety and more. Let’s take a look through how the use of CBD can alleviate more than just these symptoms. The benefits of using CBD are growing now, more than ever. More clinical studies are being undertaken all the time, to see how the use of CBD can benefit people suffering from all sorts of ailments and even how its helping benefit people with no illnesses to treat.

CBD is one of many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD contains no psychoactive properties. CBD is one of the most abundant compounds found in the plant, and it is the primary ingredient linked the relief of pain and promotion of healthy living. CBD is extracted through many ways, the primary being C02 extracted. This allows the CBD to be extracted without the use of any other chemicals or alcohols.

This creates anti-inflammatory and painkilling effects that help with pain management. This means that CBD oil may benefit people with chronic pain, such as chronic back pain.  

This review shows how effective CBD worked to relieve chronic, hard to treat pain. The review analysed studies from the late 1980’s to 2007. Based on the reviews it was concluded by researchers that CBD was effective in managing difficult to treat pain with minimal adverse effects.

 2)      Anti – Seizure Properties

 Most famously CBD has been bought lately to the limelight for treating children suffering Epidiolex is a type of medical cannabis that has been developed and trialled under licence in the US and UK. The cannabidiol (CBD) therapy has been shown to be effective in the treatment of refractory epilepsy for some with Dravet and Lennox Gastaut syndromes, tuberous sclerosis and infantile spasms. The drug is also being evaluated as an add-on therapy for adults with poorly controlled focal seizures. This cannabidiol product contains virtually no THC. The US Food and Drugs Administration is due to grant a new drug application for Epidiolex on 27 June 2018. The European Medicines Agency is also considering licensing this medication and a decision is likely to follow later this year or early in 2019.

 CBD has been shown to reduce anxiety and anxiety related disorders. By reacting with the bodies CB1 and CB2 receptor sites it has been shown to reduce the impact of anxiety by interacting with receptors like 5-HT1A.

4)    Impacts on cancer

 CBD and medical marijuana have been shown to ease the symptoms of cancer is a few different ways. Now, it is important to note that in a lot of the trials the type of product used is medical marijuana. Medical marijuana contains both CBD and THC so there will be an associated feeling of being stoned with its use. That is, essentially, because you will be stoned.

 Medical marijuana has been shown to reduce the symptoms of depressed appetite and to stop chemotherapy induced vomiting. It has also been shown to reduce the pain associated with cancer.

 There are also new studies being undertaken to investigate the effects of CBD and medical marijuana on tumour growth and cancer cells. Studies suggest CBD and medical marijuana can prevent tumour growth and even kill cancer cells without damaging healthy cells.

 CBD has been shown to interact with the CB2 receptor, The CB2 receptor has been linked with dealing with issues affecting the immune system. Inflammation is an immune response from the body to deal with external pathogens. CBD has always been linked with reducing inflammation and is now being adopted as primary supplement to people active in the fitness industry.


6)      Reduced the Risk of Diabetes

Chronic inflammation has long been known to play a key role in the development of insulin resistance and therefore type 2 diabetes. The researchers believe that the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD could treat this inflammation and therefore improve the body’s metabolism.
